Lessons on Information Literacy I can provide to your classes

Hello!  As your new School Media Specialist I'm here to work with you to make sure that our students are developing strong information literacy skills. You can schedule your classes to come to the Media Center AND you can also schedule me to deliver a lesson on information literacy.  Here is a sampling of lessons I can provide in the Media Center or in your classroom:

  • Authoritative research databases
  • Pro tips for Google: how to search for information more effectively
  • Is this website legitimate?
  • Plagiarism, copyright and digital rights management
  • Getting started on your research paper and keeping organized
  • APA Format
  • MLA Format
  • A history of the Internet
  • The Internet Archive and the Wayback Machine

Don't see what you were hoping to find?  I can tailor a lesson to your specific classroom needs--just ask!
